Three children drown in Sunamganj, Thakurgaon

SUNAMGANJ, July 08 (UNB): Two children drowned in a waterbody at Uttar Bir village in Dharmapasha upazila on Sunday noon.
The deceased were identified as Modakkir Mia, 3, son of Bappi Mia and his cousin Md Montahar, 2, son of Arif Mia of Uttor Bir village.
Locals said the two boys slipped into the waterbody while playing near it.
Locals rescued them around 12 pm and took them to Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, said Selbaras union parishad chairman Md Nur Hossain .
In Thakurgaon a minor boy drowned while taking bath in a pond in Hawda village of Baliadangi upazila on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Rabbi, 7, son of Dulal Uddin of Goalkari village and a class one student of Goalkari Government Primary School in the upazila.
Locals said Rabbi went to visit his grandmother's house at Hawda village and drowned in deep water in a nearby pond in the noon.
