Three-day bonsai exhibition begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Aug 3 (BSS): A three-day bonsai exhibition began here today aimed at making bonsai culture popular among general people.
Rajshahi Bonsai Society (RBS) in collaboration with Dhaka Bank Limited arranged the fair in the conference hall of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) Altaf Hossain attended the inaugural session as the chief guest with RBS President Mahfuz-e-Twiheed in the chair.
RU teachers Abdul Mannan, Abu Taher and Sohrab Uddin, RCCI directors Sharif Uddin and Mustafizur Rahman Sawdagor and RBS General Secretary Sarwar Morshed also spoke on the occasion.
Some 22 persons with 110 bonsai of 36 species are participating in the exhibition, which will remain open from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm.
