Three-day fair on rural lifestyleends in Jessore

JESSORE, Mar 13: Several thousand people of different villages gathered at Bankra GK High School ground and shared views and joys following a three-day fair on the indigenous lifestyle of the village people. Agricultural Extension and Livestock Department and Ulashi Srijani Sangha jointly arranged the fair since March 10 on the bank of the river Kobadak under Jhikargachha Upazila in Jessore. Lawmaker and former diplomat Mostafa Faruk Mohammad inaugurated the fair on the evening of March 10 on the Bankra GK High School ground. Village people of different walks of life gathered at the scene of the fair. The fair featured stalls of cobblers, potters, fishermen and weavers and presentations of folk songs such as Jari, Sari, Bhatiali and Baul songs.
