Three-day Medexpo kicks off in city tomorrow

The three-day fifth International Medical Exposition (MEDEXPO) - 2007, an annual event displaying medical equipment and providing medical services, will kick off tomorrow (Thursday) at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel.
Hospitals and medical equipment manufacturers from eight countries are likely to participate in the fair. Some 45 companies from the overseas are likely to take part in the fair.
This was disclosed at a press conference held at city hotel Tuesday. Triune Exhibition and Event Management Services is organising the fair.
National Professor Dr MR Khan is likely to inaugurate the fair while President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Mir Nasir Hossain will be present at the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest.
The organisers said that patients of cancer, orthopedics and infertility will be provided free consultations at the fair, apart from putting on display modern medical equipment including surgical investments, accessories, laboratory equipment.
"Foreign and local renowned doctors will be available for free consultations while the equipment manufacturers will be offering discounts for their products and services at the fair," said Mediexpo Chairman Kazi Wahidul Alam at the press conference.
The exhibition will remain open for the general visitors without any entry fee from 10 am to 8:0 pm every day during the three-day period.
However, the exhibition will remain open for medical professionals and trade delegates only from 10 am in the morning to 12 noon during December 7 and December 8.
A seminar on Man Infertility and another on operation and treatment on the backbone will also be organised during the fair.
