Three- day remand for arrested JMB leaders

SIRAJGANJ, Nov 6 (UNB): A court here placed Thursday five suspected members of banned Islamic outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), including its chief coordinator, on remand for three days in two cases.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Sadia Sultana passed the order after the GRP police produced the arrestees before her court and prayed for five days' remand, ASI Delowar Hossain of Court Police told UNB.
The arrested suspects are JMB chief coordinator Abdun Nur, 31, its Ehsar (policymaking body) members Nur Islam, Nuruzzaman, and second-tier (Gayer-e-Ehsar) members Abul Kalam Azad and Faruk Ahmed.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)- 2 conducted a drive at Shaheed Mansur Ali Railway Station in Sirajganj around 2:30am and arrested the five members of the Islamic outfit on October 31.
