Three-day training of liaison officers begins

A three-day training programme for the liaison officers of the 11th South Asian Games began Friday at the Dutch-Bangla Bank auditorium in the newly constructed building of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), reports UNB.
The 12-day South Asian Games, the biggest sports carnival of the region, will begin on January 19 in the capital and four other divisional cities of the country.
The BOA selected 300 liaison officers from 3,000 applicants to work with the different teams, players, officials, coaches and NOC representatives of the eight participating nations.
SA Games media committee convenor Asaduzzaman Noor MP and chef de-mission of Bangladesh team Mizanur Rahman Manu addressed the training session, chaired by Fazlur Rahman Babul, member secretary of the liaison committee.
On the opening day, the trainees were briefed on communications, behaviour, Olympic movement, technical rules and tourism.
