Three die in bus-truck collision

Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the west side of Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge link road in Kamarkhand upazila in Sirajganj on Sunday. The accident left 27 others injured, many of them critically. Two of the deceased were identified as Robiul Islam, 26, of Magura village of Rangpur Sadar upazila, and Masum Billa, 10, son of Rafiqul Islam of Naogaon Sadar upazila. Sub-inspector of Hatikumrul Highway police Ashrafuzzaman said the North Bengal-bound bus of ‘Dipjol Paribahan’ from Dhaka collided head on with the truck coming from the opposite direction at Kashem Intersection on the road around 5:45pm, leaving two people, including Robiul, dead on the spot and 28 others injured. Among the injured, Masum died on the way to hospital. The rest were taken to Sirajganj General Hospital, according to UNB.
