Three die in city incidents

Three persons including a boy were killed in three separate incidents in different parts of the city on Friday.
A construction worker was killed and two others were injured after falling off a multi-storey under-construction building around 10:00 am at Wari, according to police.
The construction workers were lifting goods using a crane but the hoist rope of the crane was torn suddenly. The workers along with goods, which were lifted up, fell down to the ground from 40 feet, they said.
"They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared Md Selim, 45, dead. Two others Yusuf and Zahed are now out of danger," said DMCH police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia.
Besides, a construction worker died and other was injured after falling from an under-construction building around 12:00 noon in the city's Demra area.
The deceased was identified as Bazlu Rahman, 23, and injured as Arzu, Mr Bacchu said.
He also said the two workers standing on a hanging platform were plastering the outside of a building located at Haji Badsha Miah Road in Demra. They fell down as the platform collapsed.
In another incident, a five-year-old boy named Shibli fell down from the 11th floor of a building through a hole around 2:00 pm.
Quoting a maternal uncle of the boy, the policeman said the boy came to his uncle's house along with his parents a day earlier. On Friday noon, the boy went on an empty flat to play.
