Three die in Gazipur road accident

Three people were killed and three others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Sreepur upazila in Gazipur district on Sunday night. The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained. Locals said the three people died in a head-on collision between two trucks in Mawna area. Officer-in-charge of Mawna Highway Police Camp Helalul Islam said a Dhaka-bound rice-laden truck collided head-on with the other truck around 10:30pm, leaving two people dead on the spot and four others injured. The injured were rescued and whisked off to a local clinic where one of them succumbed to his injuries, the OC added, according to a news agency.
