Three die in Gopalganj bus plunge

Three people were killed and 25 others injured as a speeding bus plunged into in a ditch beside the Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Muksudpur Upazila in Gopalganj distrtct on Sunday evening. The dead are Abbas, supervisor of the bus, Afzal Hossain Polash, 32, helper of the bus, and passenger Abedjan, 65. Police and locals said the Madaripur-bound bus of 'Shahfarid Paribahan' from Faridpur district fell in a ditch at Raghdi around 7:30pm, leaving two people – Afzah Hossain Polash and Abedjan – dead on the spot and 26 others, including Abbas, injured. Abbas died on the way to a local hospital. The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and local hospital and clinic, according to a news agency.
