Three die in Jamalpur microbus plunge

Three members of a family were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Battamor Natunbazar under Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur district on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Babul, 28, a resident of Battala village in Rajibpur upazila, and his wife Shilpi, 20, and their 10 months old son Abdullah. Police said Babul, his wife and minor son were traveling by a microbus which plunged into a ditch beside Roumari-Bakshiganj road in the morning. Witnesses said the microbus carrying 7 passengers, including the three, fell into a ditch beside Roumari-Bakshiganj road after its driver lost control over the steering at about 5:30am, leaving Babul, his wife Shilpi and their son Abdullah, dead on the spot and four other people injured. The injured received treatment in a local hospital. Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Jamalpur General Hospital for autopsy. Police seized the microbus and arrested its driver, according to a news agency.
