Three Hefazat leaders placed on remand

A Dhaka court on Monday placed three former leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam-- , Azizul Haque Islamabadi, Jalal Uddin and Zubayer Ahmed-- on remand of different terms in three cases lodged over the mayhem in the capital on May, 2013, and massive violence on March, 2021, reports BSS.
Among the trio, organising secretary of Hefajat Azizul Haque Islamabadi was placed on seven-day remand in two cases, assistant secretary general Mawlana Jalal Uddin on three-day remand in a case and Hefajat's Dhaka city unit's vice president of the dissolved committee Mawlana Zubayer Ahmed was placed on six-day remand in two cases.
