Three held with gold, Yaba tablets at Kamalapur

The Railway Police on Saturday arrested three persons and recovered 32 gold bars weighing five kilograms and 1500 Yaba tablets from their possessions at Kamalapur Railway Station in the city.
The arrestees were identified as Rahul, 28, Loton, 21, and Yousuf, 48, a news agency report said.
They arrived at the station from the port of city of Chittagong by the intercity train Turna Nishita in the morning.
On a tip-off, a team of the police searched the bodies of Rahul and Loton and recovered the gold bars concealed inside their belts.
Besides, the police also recovered 1,500 Yaba tablets from inside an envelope carried by another passenger Yousuf.
Abdul Mazid, officer in-charge (OC) of Kamalapur GRP Station confirmed the seizure.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees said they are carriers of the smuggled goods and the contraband drug Yaba tablets.
Preparation is underway to file cases against the arrested persons, said the OC.
