Three held with pistol in city

Police arrested three alleged muggers along with a 7.6mm pistol, bullets and a private car from Motijheel area of the city early Sunday, reports UNB.
Police sources said a team of police from Motijheel thana challenged three people --Robiul Islam, Amanur Rahman, and Saidur Rahman--when they boarded a private car after coming out of a restaurant in Motijheel area around 3.00 am.
Searching them, police recovered a 7.6mm pistol, 5 rounds of bullet from their possessions.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they had been involved in hijacking using the seized private car.
Besides, detectives arrested five suspected robbers while they were preparing to commit robbery in Mohammadpur area of the city on Saturday night.
