Three JMB activists get 20 years jail each

The Dhaka metropolitan tribunal judge's court sentenced Monday three activists of outlawed JMB to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for possessing bomb making explosive materials, reports UNB.
The judge handed down the punishment to Obaidul Islam alias Habib, Shafiqul Islam alias Russel and Hafez Ibrahim. They were also fined Tk 10,000 each, in default to suffer six months more in jail.
The prosecution said, on secret information the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) raided a house at Uttara on January 7, 2006 and arrested them with a substantial quantity of bomb making explosive materials.
