Three JMB kingpins sentenced to death

Three top leaders of outlawed Jama'atul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) were sentenced to death Sunday in charge of killing eight innocent people by blasting bombs in Udichi and Shoto Dal Shilpi Goshthi office in Netrokona on December 8, 2005. The judge of Special Trial Tribunal-2 AHM Mustaq Ahmed pronounced the verdict in a crowded courtroom in the city. The convicts are Saluddin alias Solehin, Asaduzzaman Chowdhury alias Ponir, and Yunus Ali. One of the accused of the case Fahima alias Farzana alias Rokeya was acquitted from the case. The other two accused out of six of the case, JMB kingpin Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai and Ataur Rahman Sani, had already been executed in charge of killing of another case. —BSS
