Three killed at Keraniganj near city

Two gunmen were killed in a mob-lynch attack, as they were fleeing after shooting a grocery shop owner at Par Gendaria in South Keraniganj area near the city Friday. Witnesses said, four gunmen, allegedly led by Jahangir, sprayed bullets on the grocery shop owner Mamun (30), son of Jalaluddin, at Haji Bazlur Rahman Road on his way to his shop at around 2:30pm. Mamun died on the spot. Hearing the gunshots, locals chased the assailants, caught two of them, and beat themup. Both the gunmen, whose identities could not be known immediately, died on the spot. Jahangir, a close associate of 'Robber Shahid' was arrested in connection with a triple murder case in 2002. He later came out of the jail. — UNB
