Three killed in gunfight with RAB

BAGERHAT, Feb 26: Three suspected robbers were killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the Sundarbans under Sharankhola range in the district on Wednesday morning. Two of the deceased were identified as Saddam, 27 and Sohel, 26, while the identity of the remaining one could not be known immediately. All of them were members of a local gang named Sagor-Saikat Bahini, RAB said. The shootout took place around 7.30 in the morning when the criminals fired gunshots at a patrol team of RAB-8 at Katlar Khal (lake) under Sharankhola range forcing them to fire back triggering a one-hour long gunfight, Captain Hasibul Haque of RAB-8 said.
