Three killed in Habiganj boat capsize

At least three people were killed and 10 others injured as a boat capsised in Gardair River in Habiganj district on Thursday. Identities of the deceased could not be known. The deceased include a man aged about 60, a woman, aged around, 20, and a 6-year-old child. Police and locals said the incident took place in Gardair River in Ajmeriganj upazila in the afternoon. Witnesses said, a boat carrying 50 persons was sailing from Birat village of Ajmeriganj to Ghagra village of Mithamoin upazila of Kishoreganj district. It capsised in the mid-river. When contacted, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ajmeriganj police station Taimur Bakht Chowdhury said the bodies of the three people have been rescued and kept at the police station, according to a news agency.
