Three killed in road crash in three dists

MAGURA, Dec 08 (UNB): A bicycle rider was killed when a passenger
bus knocked him down from behind near Binodpur village on Magura-Mohammadpur highway of the district Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Waliur Rahman (45) at Binodpur village of Mohammadpur Thana.
Police said the accident occurred when a speedy bus hit Waliur from behind, leaving him dead on the spot. Police seized the bus. A case was filed with the Mohammadpur Thana.
Another report from Sylhet adds: A rickshaw puller was killed and five others were injured in collusion between a bus and an auto-rickshaw at Ranaping Bazar in Gopalganj Upazila Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The deceased was identified as Nahid (19). The injured people were rushed to Sylhet Osmani Hospital.
In protesting against the accident, local people grew angry and barricaded Sylhet-Zakiganj highway for two hours. Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
Another report from Keraniganj adds: A man died and 10 others were injured when a Maowa bound bus hitting another bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Noarda under south Keraniganj thana this (Wednesday) morning.
The deceased was identified as bus driver Shamim (28).
Witnesses said the accident occurred at around 8:30 am when the Maowa-bound Bikrampur Paribahan bus from Dhaka collided head-on with another bus coming from opposite direction.
On information, fire service personnel from Keraniganj fire station rushed in and rescued the injured people. They were admitted to Mitford hospital.
