Three lynched in Faridpur

Three men were beaten to death by a group of unruly villagers in Faridpur Sadar upazila on Wednesday night. Identities of the deceased could not be known. Villagers claimed that they were robbers. Sadar upazila chairman Mohtesham Hossain Babar said some local people of Koijuri of Badarpur village caught the ‘three suspected robbers’ around 11:00pm. Instead of handing them over to the police, the villagers then gave them a severe thrashing, leaving them injured critically. Later, they were rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead around 11:30pm, said the hospital doctor Sirajul Islam, according to a news agency.
