Three migrants drown as boat sinks while going from Turkey to Greece
NZ repeats offer to take Australia camp refugees

ATHENS, Nov 03 (Agencies): At least three people drowned on Friday after their wooden boat sank in the narrow stretch of water separating Turkey from the Greek island of Kalymnos, Greek port police said.
A woman's body was recovered by a Greek patrol boat, while two other bodies were found in Turkish waters.
The Greek authorities were alerted that the boat was in distress. As a patrol arrived the boat sank.
The survivors -- 14 adults and a child -- said there were up to 24 people onboard the vessel when it set out from Turkey. Search efforts were continuing Friday, in a bid to find any more survivors.
Hundreds of people, mostly Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans, have died since 2015 as they tried to cross from Turkey to Greece in often rickety boats.
Meanwhile, New Zealand's prime minister on Friday repeated her country's offer to take up to 150 refugees from an Australian immigration camp in Papua New Guinea, where more than 600 weakened men are continuing a standoff with authorities.
Jacinda Ardern said she would personally restate the offer to Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull when they meet on Sunday in Sydney. New Zealand has made the offer before but Australia has declined on the grounds it could allow the refugees access to Australia.
Iranian Behrouz Boochani, who is living in the camp on Manus Island, said the refugees are starving and are without medical treatment after their camp was declared closed Tuesday based on a Papua New Guinea court ruling. However, the refugees fear for their safety from locals and have refused to leave. The facility has been left unguarded, without power and with limited toilet facilities.
