Three missing as trawlers capsize

MUNSHIGANJ, Aug 1: Three workers remained missing as two trawlers carrying 60 people sank in the Padma River in Louhajang upazila under Munshiganj district amid inclement weather on Saturday. The missing victims are Jahangir, 28, son of Mozammel of Samaida village, Sohel, 25, son of Mofizuddin of Sudharpur village, and Zakir, 32, son of Abdus Sattar of Chandpur village in Bhangura upazila of Pabna. Locals rescued 27 inmates of the sunken trawler who were floating on water with speedboats. They also rescued 30 workers of the boat that capsized partially. — UNB
