Three more nat'l records on day III

Three more national records were set on the 3rd day of the four-day 23rd Mercantile Bank National Swimming Championship at the National Swimming Complex in the city Friday, UNB reports.
BKSP swimmer Sonia Akhter, who made two national records in the women's 200-meter butterfly and 400-metre individual medley on the first day (Wednesday) and 100-meter butterfly on the second day (Thursday) set another national mark Friday clocking 00:32:65 in the 50-metre breaststroke after breaking the old record of 00:33:06 made by Sonai Akter.
Army swimmer Shahjahan Ali Ronny made the day's second record in the 50-metre breaststroke 00:30:13. He bettered the event's old record of 00:39:96 made by Karar Samedul.
BKSP team comprising Sonia, Sima, Afsan and Nasima created the day's 3rd and last record in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay with a timing of 10:15:63 after breaking the previous record of 10:32:72.
A total of nine new national records were set on the first three days.
