Three of a family among 4 hurt in Gazipur fire

Four people, including three members of a family, sustained injures in two separate incidents of fire in Gazipur city on Wednesday. Firefighters and local people three of a family, including a newborn child, were injured when the fire broke out at their residence in Chhoydana area of the city in the morning. The inured were identified as Jewel Mia, 35, his wife Munni, 25, and their newborn child, aged around six months. Locals said the fire originated from a mosquito coil at Jewel's rented residence around 4:00am. Soon the fire engulfed the entire house. Three house inmates sustained injuries as they were asleep at that time. Locals rushed to the spot, recovered the injured and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). In the other incident, an old woman, Anwara Begum, 60, wife of Matin, a resident of Mariali area of the city, sustained injures in a fire which erupted at their residence around 12:30am. She was rescued and rushed to the burnt unit of the DMCH, according to UNB.
