Three of a family stabbed

Three members of a family were stabbed allegedly by some drug addicts in Singair upazila in Manikganj district early Saturday. The victims were identified as Rokeya Begum, 35, wife of Kahinoor Islam, a resident of Baimael Pashchimpara village, her daughter Farida Akter,15, and son Farid Hossain,12. Quoting locals, police said Mahsin, nephew of Kahinur, along with his three friends, stabbed Rokeya with sharp weapons as she tried to stop them from taking drugs at dead of night. The attackers also stabbed Farida and Farid while they tried to save their mother. They were first admitted to Singair upazila health complex and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated. Police arrested Mahsin and his friend Ashutosh. Officer-in-charge of Singair Police Station Sayeduzzaman confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
