Three physicians receive Sandoz Gold medals

Sandoz Bangladesh has honoured three distinguished health practitioners of the country with Sandoz Gold Award in recognition of their ingenuity and perseverance in providing quality service to the people.
The awards were conferred at a symposium organised on 'Updates on the uses of Azithromycin' at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) Saturday.
The recipients of the awards are National Professor Late Dr Mohammad Ibrahim, National Professor MR Khan and National Professor Brig (Retd) Abdul Malik.
Earlier the health experts present in the seminar evaluated the better effectiveness of Azithromycin, an antibiotic in the treatment of typhoid fever based on a recent study conducted on adults.
Dr Md Mahtab Uddin Hassan, Associate Professor of the Department of Medicine of Chittagong Medical College and Dr Md Ridwanur Rahman, Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine of Begum Khaleda Zia Medical College presented separate keynote speeches.
