Three players share lead in GM Chess after 9th round

Three players -- GM Dibyendu Barua of India, GM Mchedlishvili Mikheil and GM Gagunashvili Merab of Georgia -- shared lead in the Insurance & United Leasing Grandmasters Chess Tournament with 6.5 points after the 9th round matches at the NSC tower auditorium lounge Friday, reports UNB.
Three more players -- GM Reefat Bin Sattar, GM Igor Rausis of Czech Republic and GM Khusnutdinov Rustam of Kazakhstan -- also followed the leaders with six points each.
Seven players shared the 3rd slot with 5.4 points each.
They are GM Abdullah Al Rakib and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Biman, GM Neelotpal Das, GM Tejas Bakre, Bitan Banerjee and Praveen Kumar of India and Anuar Ismagambetov of Kazakhstan.
In the 9th round, Mechedlishvili drew with Rausis, Dibyendu drew with Neelotpal, Gagunashvili beat Bitan, Refat beat GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Destiny, Rakib drew with Parag, Khusnutdinov beat IM Atanu Lahiri of India, Bakre drew with Praveen, Anuar beat FM Abu Sufian Shakil of Biman, FM Kh. Aminul Islam drew with Vinoth Kumar of India, IM Vishal Sareen of India drew with his fellow mate FM Sahaj Grover, FM Taibur Rahman of Destiny beat Kashev Shrestha of Nepal, Debaraj Chatterjee of Destiny beat FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Air Destiny, Md. Hasan Emam of Air Destiny beat Karma Pandya of India, FM Sk. Nsir Ahmed drew with his teammate FM Mohammad
Javed, Jamal Uddin beat Badrilal Nepali, FM Hamal Manish of Nepal beat Abdullah Al-Saif of Muktijuddah, FM Minhazudiin Ahmed of Destiny got walkover against Aminul Islam Polash of Air Destiny, Ikramul Haque Siam Kasparov Chess beat Naveen Tandukar of Nepal and Shrestha Bilam Lal of Nepal beat Golam Moshtafa Bhuiyan of Farashganj.
The 10th or the last round matches start today (Saturday) at 11:00 am at the same venue. The prize distribution ceremony of the tournament will be held later in the afternoon.
