Three policemen closed for negligence in duty

DINAJPUR, Dec 15 (UNB): Three patrol policemen of Parbatipur thana here were suspended and closed to the district police lines Thursday for negligence in duty during a highway dacoity.
Sources said highway robbers looted cash and valuables from the passengers of a night coach on Parbatipur-Syedpur highway on December 10.
During the dacoity a team of patrol police led by ASI Tafizuddin was on duty but they did not take action against the robbers. A robbery case was filed with the Parbatipur thana.
Meanwhile, following the allegation of negligence of duty of the patrol police, police super of the district visited the spot Thursday morning and after preliminary investigation took the action against ASI Tafizuddin and constables Helaluddin and Ahmmed Ali.
Later, police in two days of combing operation arrested six robbers in connection with the robbery. They were identified as Karimul (40), Momtaz (42), Chhoto Lal (40), Abdur Rahim (30), Anwarul (28) and Rabiul (22).
