Three sentenced to different terms in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Aug 22 (UNB): A court here Tuesday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment and two others to five years for killing a man 10 years back.
The court also fined lifer Jikrul Huq, son of Asiruddin and the two others - Nazrul and Ashraf - of Satnala village in Chirirbandar Upazila Tk 5,000 each, in default to suffer six months more in jail.
According to the prosecution, Jikrul along with the two other accused attacked on his cousin Asir and beat him severely over a land dispute, leaving him critically injured on May 22, 1997. He was admitted to a local clinic where he died the following day.
Later, the victim's family filed a murder case with the local police station.
After examining the records and witnesses Special Tribunal Judge M Zosan Ali handed down the verdict.
