Three shot in city

Three people, including an Awami League (AL) leader, received bullet wounds in a gun attack by a group of unidentified assailants in the city's Bangabazar area Friday afternoon. The victims were identified as Ruhul Amin alias Ruhul (40), joint convener of 56 ward Awami League, Jahanara Janu (50) and M Jasim (30). Hospital sources said three gunmen went to the Railway Colony in the area by a motorcycle at 3:00pm and started firing indiscriminately, leaving the three injured. The injured were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. — UNB
