Three siblings were injured as fire erupted from a gas pipeline in Kaliganj under Dakhkhin Keraniganj Police Station in the outskirts of Dhaka city on Thursday. The injured were identified as Shaheen, 26, son of Hossain Sheikh, and Shaheen’s two sisters – Taslima, 16, and Aisa, 15, – residents of Par Gandaria Sarkarbari in South Keraniganj. Police and locals said the fire broke out around 5:30am when Aisa went to switch on gas stove for cooking as the pipeline earlier was leaked at their tin-shed residence, leaving her injured. Aisa’s elder brother Shaheen and sister Taslima were also injured as they tried to save her from the flame. They were rushed to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Among them, Aisa received 45 per cent injuries on the body, Shaheen 30 per cent and Taslima 30 per cent, according to a news agency.
