Three Sundarbans villages get 25 safe water tanks

Providing safe water to the homesteads will ensure healthy life and decent living for marginalised women of the Sundarbans and their families, says a press release.
Speakers came up with the remarks while speaking at a programme to distribute water tanks among 425 families of three villages in the Sundarbans area recently.
This activity is a part of an initiative of MRDI with support from the Bangladesh Bank's disaster management and social responsibility fund.
MRDI Executive Director Hasibur Rahman in his speech said women of the community are now empowered and skilled enough to support their families through different CSR initiatives at the remote villages. Now they are capable of bearing a substantial portion of the cost of the water tank.
General Manager of Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank Khondker Morshed Millat in a message said the central bank is financing different projects from this fund to help the marginalised communities improve their standard of living.
