Three UK-based organisations distribute meat among Sidr-hit people

JHALOKATI, Dec 24 (UNB): Three United Kingdom (UK)-based organisations have distributed meat of sacrificial animals among the Sidr-affected people.
They slaughtered 24 cows and 40 goats for the Sidr-affected people on the premises of NS Aliya Madrasah in the town on the Eid day.
Each of the distressed families also received five kilograms of rice, one kilogram of muri and children's clothes alongwith the meat.
UK Children Trust Fund, Anzuman-e-Islah UK and Darul Hadith Latikia Muslim School, London collected and donated Tk 9.0 million for buying the sacrificial animals for the Sidr-affected people particularly for the children.
Teacher of Darul Hadis Latikia Muslim School Farid Ahmed Chowdhury, who came to celebrate the Eid with the cyclone-affected people, said that students of his school donated Tk 1.2 million.
President of UK Children Trust Fund AK Aiyub Ali gave assurance of donating more money to a project to rehabilitate houses of the Sidr-affected families.
RAB and police were deployed on the Aliya Madrasah premises to keep law and order under control during the distribution of meat and other relief materials.
