BAGHDAD, Feb 24 (AFP): Three US soldiers and their interpreter were killed during operations in the restive province of Diyala Monday, the US military said.
The statement provided no further information about the incident.
Diyala, in central Iraq, is considered one of the most dangerous areas of the country, where Al-Qaeda and various insurgent groups still manage to launch attacks despite a general decrease in violence levels elsewhere.
At least 4,249 US military personnel have died in Iraq since the March 2003 US-led invasion.
