Three workers burned in Bangshal shoe factory fire

Three workers were critically burned in a shoe factory fire at Mazargali, Sikkatuli, under the Bangshal area of the capital on Monday, reports BSS.
The fire broke out at around 01:45 am on the ground floor of a six-storey building owned by Sajeeb Mia, police and local sources said.
The injured have been identified as Roman, 20 (45 per cent burns), Ainuddin, 45 (20 per cent burns), and Amiruddin, 40 (10 per cent burns) were rescued and taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), hospital sources said.
All three hailed from Batia Para village in Katiadi, Kishoreganj.
Police Inspector Mohammad Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH Police Camp, confirmed the incident, stating that two of the victims are in critical condition.
All three are currently under close observation, and Bangshal Police Station has been notified for further investigation.
Rafiqul Islam, owner of the shoe factory, said the fire erupted when workers were heating glue solution on an electric stove while preparing sandals.
"Suddenly, the solution caught fire, burning three workers. We immediately rescued them and brought them to the burn unit, where doctors admitted them," he said.
