Thrust on creating awareness about child rights

JAMALPUR, Nov 07 (BSS): Speakers at an advocacy meeting here on Tuesday said that various government organizations have been playing active role to protect the child rights across the country.
They said more awareness should be created among the general people about the human rights for making the children as worthy citizens of the country, they said.
They also stressed on joint efforts of the government and non-government organizations to protect the rights of children.
Unnayan Sangah and Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF), two non- government organisations (NGOs) jointly arranged the advocacy meeting on the Preparations of repots under the directive of the United Nations Convention of Child Rights.
The meeting held at the training room of the Unnayan Sangha in the Deurpar Chandra area under Jamalpur Sadar Upazila with its Executive Director Rafiqul Alam Molla in the chair. Coordinator of BSAF Shafia Sami presented the key note paper on the issue at the meeting.
Additional District Magistrate, Sitesh Chandra Sarker, Vice-Chairman of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Farzana Lita, Officer-in-Charge of the district Detective Police Kazi Shahnewaz, Town Social Service Officer Faruk Miah, and Representative of the UNFPA Atahar Ali spoke among others.
