Mercantile Bank Patiya SME/Krishi Branch was inaugurated at Rahman Mansion, 1284/1 Club Road, Patiya, Chittagong Sunday.
Chairman of the Bank Md. Abdul Jalil MP, inaugurated the branch.
Parliament Member of Chittagong--11 Mr. Shamsul Haque Chowdhury was present in the programme as Special Guest.
Chairman of the Executive Committee Mr. Md. Shahabuddin Alam, Chairman of the Audit Committee Mr. Morshed Alam, Directors Mr. M.S. Ahsan, Al?haj Akram Hussain (Humayun), Mr. A. K. M. Shaheed Reza and Sponsor Mr. M.A. Khan Belal were present as guests.
The Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Mr. Dewan Mujbur Rahman and Deputy Managing Director & CFO Mr. Monindra Kumar Nath were present in the occasion.
In his speech the Chief Guest Mr. Md. Abdul Jalil M.P. said, Overall development of the country depends on the development of the rural economy. Realizing the fact Mercantile Bank is opening its branches in rural areas besides the city areas in the ratio of 4:1.
The Bank is very much concerned about financing in Agriculture and SME sector of the country. Bank has planned to open few more SME/Agricultural Branch in the year 2010. Mercantile Bank Limited is committed to reach to the mass people with its modern technology based banking services besides the rich people of the society. He also added that Mercantile Bank is spending a part of its profit for the development of the underprivileged people of the society.
Mr. Shamsul Haque Chowdhury M.P. expected that, like other branches Mercantile Bank Patiya SME/Krishi Branch will be able to contribute for the development of the agriculturist as well as the agricultural sector and small and medium entrepreneur of Patiya area.
