Thrust on developing skills in material planning, inventory control

Syed Moazzam Hossain, Director, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has emphasised the role of purchase and supply function and its involvement in the material planning and inventory control.

Addressing the closing and certificate awarding programme of a three-day training course on "Material Planning and Inventory Control" organised by the DCCI Business Institute (DBI) recently in the city as the chief guest, he said the demands of the products and rate of the consumption in the local market are rising gradually, said a press release.

In order to make it successful in business, the entrepreneurs should have efficient and effective material planning and inventory control skills and knowledge. Referring to the employment of foreigners in local enterprises, he said that we had acute crisis in managerial human resources in material planning and inventory control division. He stressed the need for developing skills and efficiency in material planning and inventory control.

He urged the participants to utilise their knowledge for effective material planning and inventory control in their respective organisations and disseminate the same to their colleagues, managements with a view to enhance overall skills of all concerned.

Executive Director, DBI Md Hossain Ali said DBI offered 40 short-term need-based training courses for professionals and business executives to make them forward-looking. In order to expand their knowledge about material planning and inventory control he invited them to explore the International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (IPSCM) Diploma Course of DBI.

Experienced resource person for "Material Planning & Inventory Control" course Ashu Tosh Nath was present on the occasion.

A total of 21 participants from different business organisations took part in the training.
