Thrust on dissemination of knowledge

Large scale dissemination of knowledge among the young people is a must to bring about changes to the present social system, speakers told a leadership development programme Thursday.
They also said young leadership could play a big role to address the global challenges and thus make Bangladesh a developed country.
The American Centre in Dhaka and the South Asian Youth Society (SAYS) jointly organised the leadership development programme titled 'Knowledge for Change' at Dhaka University (DU) Senate Bhaban.
DU Mass Communication and Journalism Department teacher Shamim Reza, cultural affairs officer of the American Centre in Dhaka Garrett E Wilkerson and SAYS President Towfiq Ahmed, among others, dwelt on leadership development, higher education in the US and knowledge for change at the function.
Some 70 alumni of the English Access Micro Scholarship Programme, a US-funded English skill development programme in Dhaka, the SAYS members and DU students attended the function.
