Thrust on enhanced Dhaka-Delhi security coop

Friday, 8 January 2010

A leading Bangladeshi security think tank has suggested enhanced Dhaka-New Delhi security cooperation calling it a crucial factor for more improved bilateral ties.
"Effectively managing a security regime which is important not only for countering terrorism but also for maintaining and underpinning a secure atmosphere in relations between the two countries," Bangladesh Institute for Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) stated in a special report published in the city Thursday, reports BSS.
The report, which came three days ahead of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's three-day India tour, stated, "Security is likely to be the most prominent item on India's agenda for this meeting. However, the security concerns of Bangladesh are required to be adequately highlighted".
