Thrust on implementation of cost audit

A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) led by its President ABM Shamsuddin called on Feroz Ahmed, secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, at the latter's office in the city recently, said a press release.
The ICMAB delegation apprised the commerce secretary of the recent steps of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants towards adding value to organisation by attaining the effective use of resources in dynamic and competitive contexts and establishment of transparency, accountability and corporate governance in the business and industrial sectors of the country.
The delegation sought active guidance and support of the commerce secretary for development of CMA profession and ICMAB.
The commerce secretary appreciated the role of the cost and management accountants for the establishment of financial discipline in the business and industrial sectors of the country and urged on the need for implementation of cost audit.
He gave the assurance of all possible help and assistance for development of the Institute as well as the CMA profession.
Among other delegates, ICMAB Vice President ASM Shaykhul Islam, Secretary Md Jasim Uddin Akond and Treasurer and former president Md Abdur Rashid and Director of the Institute Aminul Islam were also present on the occasion.
