Thrust on increasing fee-based income

Md Yeasin Ali, managing director of Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL), has asked the officials of the bank to put special emphasis on increasing fee-based income.
He was speaking at the end-of-the-year managers' conference of the bank at a city hotel to review the bank's performance for the year 2009.
He presided over the conference and discussed the bank's business budget for the year 2010.
The branch managers and second officers of 79 branches of the bank attended the conference, according to a press release.
KS Tabrez, deputy managing director (operation), Abul Kashem Md Shirin, DMD (administration), divisional heads and senior executives of the head office were also present at the conference.
The managing director, in his speech, critically analysed the business performance of the bank for the year 2009.
He congratulated the concerned managers and officers of the branches who have by now achieved their business targets set for the year 2009.
Mr Ali asked the branch managers and divisional heads to put all-out efforts to achieve the business targets of the bank set for the next year.
He put special emphasis on taking advantages of the largest on-line banking network as well as the unique image of the bank.
KS Tabrez, in his speech, asked the branch managers to develop relationship with the clients and urged them to lay more emphasis on increasing business volume, diversification of loan portfolio and cost control measures for achieving the targets of 2010.
Abul Kashem Md Shirin also spoke on the occasion and gave a brief description of the upgradation of the bank's robust IT platform.
