Thursday, 15 September 2022

GAIBANDHA, Sept 14 (BSS): Speakers at a function here underscored on Wednesday the need for taking concerted efforts of all stakeholders of the society and creating mass awareness among the people from all sections to build pollution-free society.
"Level of sound pollution also termed as noise pollution across the country is now a major concern for the general people because it has already exceeded the tolerance level. Due to the sound or noise pollution millions of people in the country are exposed to a number of health risks -- from deafness to heart attack", they said. They made the observations while addressing a view-exchange meeting on sound pollution and its prevention at the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) here on Wednesday morning.
The Department of Environment (DoE) and district administration organized the meeting under the Environment Quality Monitoring and Serving (EQMS) project in cooperation with Center for Atmospheric Pollution Studies (CAPS).
