Thrust on massive tree plantation to reduce environmental degradation
World Environment Day observed in districts

The World Environment Day-2023 was observed in districts on Monday in a befitting manner as elsewhere in the country with a view to creating awareness about the environmental pollution among the common people, reports BSS.
Amid adverse effects of climate change, massive tree plantation has become essential to reduce environmental degradation and growing threat to life, livelihoods, ecosystems and habitation on the earth.
The observation came on Monday at a post-rally discussion at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in Rangpur.
The district administration and the Department of Environment (DoE) jointly organised the discussion in observance of the World Environmental Day- 2023 with the theme 'Solutions to Plastic Pollution'.
In Bhola, marking the day, a colourful rally was brought out from the premises of deputy commissioner's office which paraded the important streets and ended at the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office on Monday morning.
