Thrust on proper knowledge on material planning and inventory control
Having proper knowledge on material planning and inventory control seen vital for becoming competitive and facing the challenges of globalisation.
Former president of the DCCI and Managing Director of the M/s Bengal Fine Ceramics Limited R Maksud Khan made the observation while speaking at the concluding session of a training course organised by the DCCI on Material Planning and Inventory Control in the city recently, said a press release.
He said an organisation must have modern management principles and techniques to increase the effectiveness of the professionals engaged in material management to promote higher productivity, reduce inventory cost through better planning and control and develop an effective inventory control system to effectively cater to production, operation and service demand.
The objectives of the training course were to develop skill of people in charge of material planning and inventory control function in business organisations.
Deputy Secretary (Training) and Course Coordinator Md Shamsuddin Azad moderated the session.
A total of 15 participants from different business organisations and individuals took part in the course, the release added.
