Thrust on strong monitoring over activities of listed cos

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Wednesday made a proposal of holding meeting with the securities regulator once a month to discuss the market situation and relevant issues, the officials said.
The premier bourse made the proposal at a meeting held with the policy makers of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
 "The BSEC has agreed with the DSE and asked it to take initiatives for holding meeting with different stakeholders of the capital market," the DSE official said.
He said the Wednesday's meeting has also emphasized the strong monitoring over the activities of the listed companies.
The DSE representatives have also urged the BSEC policy makers to hold meeting with the finance minister for the sake of getting budgetary supports.
The BSEC Chairman Professor M Khairul Hossain chaired the meeting attended by four BSEC commissioners and other senior officials.
On the other hand, the DSE delegation attended the meeting under the leadership of the DSE Chairman Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah.
