Thrust on training to make SMEs efficient

Productivity increase, quality improvement and standardisation are the major concerns for industrial enterprises, specially for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
With these keeping in mind, the Italy-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) organised a training programme on 'Identification and Delivery of Promotional Services to Members' for enhancing operational capacity of their enterprises at its conference room in the city Monday, said a press release.
Former president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) ATM Waziullah was present on the occasion as the chief guest, while President of IBCCI HM Hakim Ali presided over the function.
ATM Waziullah, in his address, has stressed the need for organising such training courses which are much needed for the private sector to make the SMEs efficient and competent enough to stay in competition with others in domestic and export markets.
He said IBCCI should undertake such training programmes on a regular basis..
HM Hakim Ali said IBCCI has a plan to share knowledge and experience with its members to run their enterprises professionally and profitably.
He thanked the participants for their keen interest in the training programme.
The training course put emphasis on the following topics: Updating knowledge and know-how, awareness in creating an environment with appropriate business tools, sharing experience with others for creating an business opportunity, and involving the workforce in motivation for a viable business proposition.
