Prof Muzaffar said that an opportunity had been created now to elect honest and competent persons in the elections so that they could govern the country and lead it towards peace, progress and prosperity.
Muzaffar said, only a good candidate is not enough for election as candidate has a political influence that might hinder national development.
M Hafizuddin Khan pointed out that as a result of recent political reform a number of dedicated and honest leaders have emerged. He called for submitting all data of the candidates before polls so that voters could choose the best candidate from among them.
Badiul Alam in his written statement said terrorists, corrupt, black money holders, convicts, loan defaulters must be barred from contesting polls to avoid vote rigging and other unscrupulous practices.
