TICFA forum meets in city April 27

The first meeting of the Trade and Investment Cooperation Framework Agreement (TICFA) forum will be held in Bangladesh on April 27-28 next.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed disclosed Tuesday the date of the meeting as leaders of the Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) called on him at his office.
The TICFA meeting was scheduled for April 7-8, but was postponed as both the sides were busy with other schedules.
The government is taking steps sincerely to expand the country's export sector which is advancing well despite many constraints, the minister said.
"We have taken a number of steps including building of stocks of edible oil, sugar, pulses and chickpea under the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) to keep prices of various essential items stable during holy Ramadan," Tofail Ahmed said.
The minister assured all-out support for development of the ERF in its activities.
Commerce Secretary Mahbub Ahmed, immediate past president of ERF Khawaza Mainuddin, newly elected president Sultan Mahmud Badol, vice president Shahnewaz Karim, general secretary Sajjadur Rahman, assistant general secretary Rezaul Karim, finance secretary Sheikh Abdullah, executive members Badiul Alam and Jibon Islam were also present at the meeting.
